Homemade Apple Butter

Today, we're going to share a recipe with you for Homemade Apple Butter, which utilizes Allspice. You can find Allspice for a great price right here.

Allspice

Apple Butter

Ingredients
2 cups natural, unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup sugar (you can use any type of sweetener that you like here, depending on what you're using, your substitution ratio will vary.)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/8 teaspoon cloves
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions 
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over high heat and bring to a boil. Once a rapid boil has been reached, reduce heat and simmer on low for one hour. After one hour, remove from heat and allow to cool before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Apple butter is used as a spread on breads, muffins, cakes, cookies and sandwiches.
